DIVE COURSES

Specialty Courses

PADI Specialty Courses introduce the diver to a diverse world of new and interesting underwater topics and activity. Specific techniques, knowledge, planning & organisation, potential hazards and unique safety aspects are fully considered and explored expanding skills and knowhow in specific specialist areas of interest. Specialty dives are a safe and supervised introduction to those specialised areas.
Recommended is the Deep/Enriched Air Nitrox (EANX) Double Speciality Course, a popular choice which qualifies the diver to 40m depth whilst acquainting him/her to the benefits of diving with O2 enriched gas. Incorporating both disciplines together complements each perfectly and provides a fuller understanding of these 2 aspects of speciality diving.
Deep Diver
There is something exciting and mysterious about the lure of the depth. Changes in light, colour, pressure and visibility. Considering and managing air and reduced no-decompression times. How to recognise

and deal with nitrogen narcosis symptoms. These are all areas to be explored and considered promoting confidence to dive safely to depths of up to 40 metres.

Enriched Air Nitrox Diver (EANX)
Diving using Enriched Air Nitrox extends bottom times by reducing the rate of nitrogen absorption – a valuable benefit in fully exploring expansive dive sites. An interesting subject too and EANX competence is

often a prerequisite for diving live-aboard holidays. Diving with EANX is the only PADI Speciality that can be combined with any other course or speciality subject and is strongly recommended when completing Deep or Wreck Speciality courses.

Wreck Diver
Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef or a lost as the result of an accident, wrecks are mysterious and exciting and here in Cyprus we have dozens including one of the World’s best– the Zenobia Wreck. Seeing

into the past: ships, aeroplanes, and even cars are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. Every wreck dive offers a chance for discovery and the potential to penetrate and witness an environment many others may never experience. However, wrecks can be hazardous so the course concentrates on safety techniques associated with safe wreck penetration and exploration.

Search and Recovery (S&R) Diver
Losing things happens when diving, dive computers, underwater cameras, weight belts or even jewellery. The S&R Speciality course teaches and practices appropriate search patters to locate lost items and

introduces new techniques using lifting equipment and buoyancy bags to retrieve objects from the depths.

Underwater Navigator
A competent navigator is a confident diver and everyone admires, and follows, a competent navigator. Effective navigation techniques, planning and practice fine-tunes your dive observation skills,

nails your navigation mindset and improves compass and leadership skills when diving.

Night Diver
The underwater world is a different place in the dark. A familiar site turns into a completely different place after sunset; day creatures retire, and nocturnal creatures awaken and emerge. Watch so much more

come to life under the glow of your dive torch. Night diving teaches focus on what to see in the dive torch beam, develops buoyancy control with fewer references and focuses attention to details and creatures that simply do not exist during the day.

Peak Performance Buoyancy
Perfect buoyancy control is the key to safe and efficient diving, and it defines a good Scuba diver. Efficiently descend, ascend and controlling precise neutral buoyancy are key to ultimately saving air,

energy and time. Hovering effortlessly in any position and fine-tuning weight and distribution all adds to being a class diver.

AWARE Fish Identification
“What was that fish?” is a common question heard after a dive. If you want to be the scuba diver with the answers, then take the Fish Identification Specialty. You’ll enjoy your dives even more when you recognize

the creatures that you see and can identify the main fish families and their characteristics.
