The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba course. Diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more time at depth, especially on multi-dive days. If staying down longer and getting back in the water sooner sounds appealing, or if you are planning a live aboard dive holiday (dive cruise), then don’t hesitate to become an enriched air diver – so useful!
We usually run a double specialty package Deep/Enriched Air Speciality but the Nitrox ticket is always useful and can be completed as a single course.
A PADI Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old, can enrol in the Enriched Air Diver Specialty course.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
Air with higher oxygen content and therefore a lower nitrogen component allows a longer dive bottom time but diving with enriched air in your Scuba has additional implications and considerations.
A thorough theory session and short multi-choice test is followed by 2 dives to depth on different blends when you will also consider:
- Discuss managing oxygen exposure;
- Practice analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank;
- Set your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox;
